This weekend on Sunday at 2am we move our clocks one hour ahead. This means that we will lose one hour. The good news is the afternoons will be brighter and longer and best of all early morning risers will be getting up an hour later. My advice to you if you have a child who is taking one nap a day or no naps, you don’t have to do anything, just follow the clock immediately. For babies who are napping more than once a day follow the clock immediately but make each nap and bedtime a half hour later. For example: normal schedule Nap 1: 9am, Nap 2: 12pm, Nap 3: 3pm, bedtime 7pm, will change to Nap 1: 9:30, Nap 2: 12:30, Nap 3: 3:30pm and bedtime 7:30pm. Making the sleep time a half hour later will help ease into the adjusted time change more smoothly. Over a week or so you can adjust the naps as the wake time goes back to normal.
